End of United career
It was announced yesterday that Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s time at Manchester United has come to an end.
The Swede was released by the Red Devils despite having a very good debut season at Old Trafford. Ibrahimovic banged in 28 goals in all competitions and was a strong contender for their Player of the Year.
He was nominated for the PFA award and scored two goals in the club’s EFL Cup final win.
Unfortunately, a cruciate ligament injury in the Europa League semi-final against Anderlecht brought his United spell to a premature end. He won’t get a contract renewal but will complete his recovery at Carrington.
There’s still a chance that the 35-year-old will be offered a United deal when he’s fully fit.
However, he’s not short of options.
A serial winner, Ibrahimovic has won trophies with Spanish, Italian, Dutch, French and English clubs.
Now, he has the opportunity to win silverware with a German club after Hertha Berlin made a plea for the Swede to come to the Bundesliga. They admitted they had no cash but promised that they have the best fans in the world.

It’s highly unlikely that Ibrahimovic will think about it. Although, it must be said, living in Berlin is fun.
