Brilliant video showcases moment Bruno Fernandes discovers he will captain Man United vs PSG

Footage of a special moment from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s pre-Paris Saint Germain press conference has been going viral online this evening.

PSG vs Man United

Manchester United are of course set to get their Champions League campaign underway on Tuesday night.

The Red Devils face a trip to the Parc des Princes, to take on last season’s competition finalists, PSG.

The matchup comes as a highly-anticipated one, for a whole host of reasons.

First off, it marks United’s return to the top-tier of European club football, following a campaign plying their trade in the Europa League.

The clash also represents a significant one for a number of the players involved, with both Angel Di Maria and Ander Herrera set to face off against their former employers.

Edinson Cavani would have been another in line to take on the club he departed just this past summer, but the Uruguayan has since been omitted from the visitors’ travelling squad set for Paris.

Finally, it should be noted that the last time PSG and Manchester United faced off, in a Champions League last-16 meeting in 2019, the latter staged the most remarkable of last-gasp comebacks to oust the French champions from the tournament.

Fernandes’ surprise

Another individual for whom tomorrow’s clash is set to prove a special occasion, albeit for a very different reason to those mentioned above, is Bruno Fernandes.

This comes with the Portuguese midfielder set to captain Manchester United for the first time at the Parc des Princes.

Harry Maguire is one of a number of Red Devils stars to have been omitted from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad to take on PSG, with the captain’s armband having therefore been up for grabs.

In turn, the United boss confirmed during a pre-match press conference this evening that he has chosen Fernandes to lead his side out on Tuesday night.

And, evidently, the moment in which the awaiting media discovered this news actually also came as the first that Fernandes had heard of Solskjaer’s decision.

The 26-year-old’s surprise is clear as day in the clip below, which has since gone viral across social media for all the right reasons:
