Brighton vs Manchester City betting tips: Premier League match preview and predictions

Brighton vs Man City prediction: Brighton 0-2 Man City

It is simple.

No more permutations.

No more debating.

No more second chances.

If Manchester City win at the Amex, they will be retain their title and become the first team to do so in the Premier League for a decade.

Will they do it or will there be a twist in the tale?

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester City: Who will win?

Brighton are a massive 18/1 to win this match and cause a monumental upset.

Even a draw would be enough for Liverpool but that’s 15/2.

Manchester City, unsurprisingly, are 1/6 on to get the win that seals the title.

Under 2.5 goals is 7/4.

Both teams to score no is 4/7.

Manchester City to win and both teams to score no (which has happened 19 times in the league this season) is 4/6.

Sergio Aguero

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester City: Match preview

Brighton are safe.

They knew that going into their match last weekend as Cardiff lost 3-2 at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.

However, they did not look like a side with nothing to play for.

Glenn Murray’s penalty just after the hour mark earned them a much deserved and famous 1-1 draw at Arsenal.

They may only have 36 points and be winless in 8 but Chris Hughton has achieved their primary objective.

23 of those 36 points have been won at home and this has proved a tough place to come over the last two seasons.

They couldn’t cause a gigantic upset could they?

Phil Foden

Captain fantastic

Oh. My. Goodness.

What a goal!

What a moment!

What a player.

On Monday night, Vincent Kompany’s absolutely amazing thunderbolt saw Manchester City beat Leicester City 1-0 at a nervy Etihad Stadium.

That result means they have won each of their last 13 Premier League matches.

It is the 4th time a team has win 13+ games in a row in Premier League  history, with Man City the only side to have done so twice.

Also, Man City have now beaten every single different opposition they’ve faced in the league for the second consecutive season; the only other English top-flight team to achieve this were Preston North End between 1888-89 and 1889-90.

More importantly, that win means they remain 1 point above Liverpool with just 1 game left.

Surely this win is only a formality.

Well maybe not.

5 of Manchester City’s last 10 Premier League wins have been by a 1-0 scoreline as opposed to just 1 of their previous 21 victories.

Will they get over the line?

After a very solid performance last weekend, Chris Hughton is expected to name the same side for this one.

Mat Ryan has amassed just 6 clean sheets from 35 appearances this season.

In front of him, Shane Duffy has the most headed clearances in the Premier League, 158.

Bruno will keep his place at right-back ahead of Martín Montoya.

In midfield, Yves Bissouma was outstanding last weekend so will keep his place ahead of Beram Kayal.

Pascal Groß will be in the advanced role looking to add to his 3 goals this season.

Davy Pröpper is still out with a hamstring injury.

Up front, Glenn Murray scored his 14th goal of the season last weekend.

Can he add to that here?

Will this side defeat the impending champions?

Sergio Aguero

Pep Guardiola is expected to make just the solitary change from Monday night.

His goalkeeper Ederson has 27 clean sheets from 53 appearances.

Vincent Kompany will keep his place at centre-back.

He scored his 20th goal in all competitions for Man City on Monday, with his strike versus Leicester his first from outside the box.

That goal was his first shot on target from outside the penalty area since December 2013 and he’s had 37 attempts in that time.

He’s also only the second Manchester City player to score in 9 different Premier League seasons, the other being David Silva.

David Silva will also be in the side alongside his namesake.

Phil Foden made just his second Premier League start on Monday but isn’t likely to start this one.

Leroy Sané will come in as they look to break down this stubborn Brighton side.

Up front will be their goalscorer extraordinaire.

Sergio Agüero is only the second player in Premier League history to score 20+ goals in five consecutive campaigns, after Thierry Henry between 2001-02 and 2005-06.

Will he be the man for the big occasion once again?
