While Brighton didn’t confirm the fee for the centre-back, Sky have previously reported it to be around £20m.
On signing Webster, Graham Potter stated:
“Adam is a player the club has been aware of for sometime, and someone we came up against last season at Swansea City.
“He is a quality defender, comfortable on the ball, fits the profile of the type of player we want to bring to the club, and he was very keen to join us.” As quoted by Brighton’s official website.
Brighton eyeing Brentford forward
After completing the signing of Webster, Brighton look to be in the market for another Championship star.
According to the Evening Standard, Brighton are hoping to sign Brentford forward Neal Maupay.
Maupay scored 25 and assisted eight in 43 Championship outings last campaign.
However, the 22-year-old is yet to play for Brentford in pre-season, and was left out of their matchday squad to face Birmingham on Saturday.
