Brighton vs Newcastle
Brighton took on a winless Newcastle United on Saturday as the Seagulls went in search of their second straight league win.
Brighton’s last game saw them beat West Ham 1-0 and they came into today’s game 13th in the table.
Newcastle, as mentioned above, were without a win heading into today’s game.
The Magpies had drawn two and lost six of their eight league games this season.
But Newcastle have already had to play Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal.
So, Rafa Benitez’s side will have been optimistic about picking up their first win of the season vs Brighton.
Glenn Murray’s injury
Especially when Brighton’s biggest attacking threat Glenn Murray was taken off inside the first 11 minutes.
Murray would suffer a clash of heads with Newcastle defender Frederico Fernandez and was knocked unconscious.

He will be a huge miss to Brighton should he have to spend any time on the sideline.
Murray started this season very well for Brighton.
The forward would score his first of the season in Brighton’s 3-2 win over Manchester United.
Murray would then score a brace as his side drew 2-2 with Fulham, then one vs Southampton and the winner in Brighton’s victory over West Ham.
However, despite Murray being subbed off inside 11 minutes, Brighton would still manage to take a 1-0 lead vs Newcastle.
