Brendan Rodgers provides encouraging Jamie Vardy fitness update
Foxes firing
Leicester, as things stand, of course represent one of the Premier League’s most in-form sides.
The Foxes have continued to defy the odds over recent weeks, having remained unbeaten across their last 8 outings, a stretch which includes five consecutive wins.
On the back of their latest 3-point haul picked up versus Chelsea on Tuesday, Rodgers’ men even moved temporarily into top spot in the English top-flight table.

What has proven even more impressive than their recent string of results, though, have been the performances themselves on the part of the King Power outfit.
Leicester look a genuine top side at present, with the likes of James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and James Justin continuing to shine.
‘Won’t have lost much fitness’
Another key contributor to the success being enjoyed by the Foxes of late has of course been Jamie Vardy.
The 34-year-old has long stood as one of the Premier League’s most lethal finishers, with his haul of 11 goals and 5 assists to this point in the campaign proof that Vardy is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon.
As such, when Brendan Rodgers confirmed earlier this week that his side’s main goal threat was set for a spell of several weeks on the sidelines, it no doubt came as a major blow to the Leicester faithful.
The ex-English international was forced under the knife, to fix a long-standing hernia problem.

In turn, on the back of the Foxes’ comeback FA Cup win over Brentford this afternoon, Rodgers was inevitably asked for an update on Vardy’s wellbeing.
And, in a boost for both his side’s fanbase, and all of those who depend on the veteran attacker for Fantasy Football production, the Leicester boss revealed that Vardy’s operation proved a success.
Remarkably, Rodgers then went as far as to suggest that the former Fleetwood man could be back on the pitch within the next 10 days:
‘He’s had the operation, a minor one. He’s in recovery now. The earliest he can get onto the pitch is a week to ten days.’
‘He won’t have lost too much fitness. He’ll be flying for us for the rest of the season.’
