Brazil got off to the perfect start in São Paulo on Friday night.

The hosts opened up the tournament against CONMEBOL’s lowest ranked side Bolivia.

The Seleção were frustrated at half time as the game was scoreless.

However, their dominance is emphasised by the fact they’d had 22 touches in the opposition’s penalty area to Bolivia’s zero.

Just moments after half time, the were awarded a penalty when Richarlison’s cross clipped the arm of  Adrián Jusino.

Philippe Coutinho stepped up and struck home his 15th international goal.

Just minutes later, Coutinho was on target again, heading in Roberto Firmino’s chipped cross.

Late on, Everton of Grêmio cut inside and curled home a beautiful third to put the icing on the cake.

The perfect start for Tite’s side.

Will they make it two wins out of two in Salvador?

As for Venezuela, they are currently on one point but are fortunate to have that.

Their opponents Peru had two goals ruled out for offside by VAR on Saturday as those two played out a goalless draw.

Luis Mago was sent off late on in that match so is suspended.

Oddly, five of the last six red cards shown to Venezuela in this competition have come against Peru.

This should be another comfortable win for Brazil in front of a buoyant crowd at Itaipava Arena Fonte Nova.
