Bournemouth’s David Brooks & Adam Smith injury updates before Newcastle

Huddersfield 0 – Bournemouth 2

Bournemouth picked up a massive win at Huddersfield on Saturday.

The Cherries have been an awful run of form of late, which has included nine defeats on the bounce in away league games.

However that run ended at Huddersfield with a 2-0 Bournemouth win.

Callum Wilson marked his return to the side from injury with the opener.

Wilson then teed up Ryan Fraser for Bournemouth’s second.

David Brooks injury update before Newcastle

Next up for Bournemouth is a home game against Newcastle next Saturday.

Newcastle will arrive on the south coast following a 3-2 win over Everton.

Will David Brooks be fit for the Cherries?

Brooks only returned to action on Saturday following an ankle injury. However the winger came off for Dominic Solanke after 65 minutes.

After the game Eddie Howe said “David was fine, he was just very fatigued.”

With a week’s rest before Newcastle, you’d expect Brooks to play in that match.

Adam Smith is out

However Bournemouth defender Adam Smith is going to miss the Newcastle game.

Smith picked up a hamstring injury in the Huddersfield match that could keep him sidelined for a few weeks.

The only upside for Smith is that the international break will mean he misses fewer games than in other circumstances.
