Bournemouth have been dealt what looks a serious blow on the injury front, after Charlie Daniels was stretchered off during the club’s meeting with Manchester City.
Bournemouth vs Man City
Eddie Howe’s men welcomed champions City to the Vitality Stadium this afternoon, for the respective sides’ 3rd league league outings of the campaign.
The visitors followed an opening day demolition of West Ham with their first dropped points of the season last time out, as Spurs twice battled back to hold the Sky Blues to a 2-2 draw.
Bournemouth, meanwhile, had also picked up 4 points from their opening two outings of the campaign.
The Cherries were held to a 1-1 draw by newly-promoted Sheffield United two weeks ago, before putting Aston Villa to the sword by 2 goals to 1 last time out.
Howe’s men, however, headed into proceedings this afternoon aware that maintaining their positive start would prove a tough task.
As evidenced below, City had proven an absolute nightmare to deal with for Bournemouth over the last 4 seasons:

Wilson keeps Bournemouth alive
And the early exchanges this afternoon set the stage for yet another difficult day out for the Cherries versus the Manchester giants.
A flowing City move with 15 minutes on the clock eventually saw Sergio Aguero divert a Kevin De Bruyne effort home.
This was followed by Raheem Sterling doubling the visitors’ advantage shortly before the interval, after latching onto an inch-perfect David Silva pass.
Just when it looked as though City were set to head into the interval with a 2-goal advantage, though, Bournemouth pulled one back, and in style.
A free-kick 25 yards out saw Harry Wilson step forward, with the Liverpool loanee having gone on to bend a sumptuous effort beyond Ederson into the top-corner of the champions’ goal.
As such, it looks very much game on at the Vitality at the beginning of the second-half.
Wilson’s strike actually came just 10 minutes after the Welshman was introduced off the bench by Eddie Howe.
His addition to the home side’s midfield ranks came on the back of what looked a serious injury for Charlie Daniels.
After stretching to whip a delivery into the City box with 37 minutes on the clock, the stopper immediately clutched his knee, before slamming the Vitality turf in evident pain.
Daniels was stretchered off a short time later, with concern having quickly spread for his well-being.
We’re forced into a change…

The commentary team on Sky Sports News, meanwhile, have since revealed that Daniels has suffered a suspected dislocated kneecap.
