Bournemouth vs Newcastle betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Bournemouth vs Newcastle prediction: Bournemouth 1-1 Newcastle

A tough game to call from the South Coast.

Bournemouth found their feet again last weekend and are looking up the table.

Newcastle meanwhile were involved in an amazing comeback in their last match but still need points to be sure of safety.

Will there be a winner at Dean Court?

Bournemouth vs Newcastle United: Who will win?

Bournemouth, as the hosts, are favourites at 21/20.

Newcastle have won just 2 away games this season and are 13/5 to make that 3.

A draw is 12/5.

Under 2.5 goals is 4/5 and both teams to score is 8/11.

Draw and both teams to score is 10/3.

Miguel Almiron

Callum Wilson returned with a goal and an assist last weekend. He’s 16/5 to score first and 5/4 to net anytime.

Salomón Rondón is Newcastle’s top scorer. The Venezuelan is 9/2 to score first and 9/5 to score anytime.

Both Wilson and King to score is 6/1.

Both Rondón and Ayoze Pérez to score is 9/1.

Bournemouth vs Newcastle United: Match preview

Bournemouth finally got a win.

After hammering Chelsea 4-0 at the end of January, Eddie Howe’s side then amassed just one point from 5 games.

However, last weekend they comfortably beat bottom club Huddersfield 2-0 away to end that winless run.

Despite the fact they’ve only won 5 of their last 20 games, the Cherries are 12th and a win would see them climb into the top half.

25 of their 37 points have been won at home so can they add to that here?

As for Newcastle, they’re now just 3 points behind their hosts.

Last weekend, despite being 2-0 down at half time, they turned it around and beat Everton 3-2 at St James’ Park.

That was the first time they’d come from two goals down to win a Premier League game since October 2003 against Fulham, with Sir Bobby Robson as manager.

That’s also now 5 home wins in a row.

Their form on Tyneside has lifted them away from danger and just one more win or two would ensure survival for another season.

However, they’ve only won twice away from home this season, at Burnley and Huddersfield.

Can Rafa Benítez’s side pull off an impressive win?

Eddie Howe’s XI rarely changes and it’ll change even less now that his big players are back fit and firing.

Artur Boruc will be in goal for the eighth straight league game since displacing Asmir Begović.

In defence, Nathaniel Clyne will come in for Adam Smith who got injured at Huddersfield.

Simon Francis, Steve Cook and Lewis Cook are all out long term.

Nathan Aké has made more clearances than anybody else in the Premier League this season (194).

In midfield, Ryan Fraser became the first Scotsman to register 10 assists in a Premier League season last weekend.

He and Callum Wilson have now combined for nine goals this season with one assisting the other.

The last duo to combine for more Premier League goals in a season than those two were Arsenal’s Nicolas Anelka and Dennis Bergkamp in the 1998-99 season (10 goals).

Wilson returned from injury last weekend which is a major boost for his side.

He’ll start up front alongside Josh King.

Will this XI be too hot to handle for Newcastle?

Newcastle United team news vs Bournemouth

As for the visitors, their amazing comeback win should see a similar side put out. But, Fabian Schar is suspended so we will see a replacement.

Jamal Lascelles looks likely to be fit after returning to training. Depending on what happens in midfield, Isaac Hayden could replace Schar.

It’s likely to be a 5-2-2-1 formation once again.

Martin Dúbravka will be hoping to improve upon his recent poor form.

In defence, Matt Ritchie will play at left wing-back against his old side.

Antonio Barreca has made just two appearances since joining from Monaco on loan in January.

Sean Longstaff is out with a knee injury so either one of Ki Sung-yueng or Jonjo Shelvey will partner Isaac Hayden. Were Hayden to drop back, they could both play here.

They’ll be looking to support the three amigos up front.

Miguel Almirón has been so impressive since joining from Atlanta United in January.

He, alongside Ayoze Pérez and Salomón Rondón who both scored last weekend, have formed a frightening three pronged attack.

Will they be enough to defeat Bournemouth?
