Bournemouth’s double injury blow before Chelsea & Man City

Bournemouth 0 – Liverpool 4

Last year Bournemouth beat Liverpool 4-3 in one of the Premier League games of the season.

Lightening didn’t strike twice on Sunday.

Liverpool put in an awesome display at the Vitality Stadium winning 4-0 on the south coast.

Philippe Coutinho, after he hit the woodwork previously, broke the deadlock for Jurgen Klopp’s men with a stunning solo goal.

The match was over as a contest before the break as Dejan Lovren and Mohamed Salah also found the target.

Roberto Firmino rounded off the goals in the second period.

Chelsea & Man City

While Liverpool are fourth in the table, Bournemouth are again being sucked into the relegation mire.

They are 16th in the division and just one point above the drop zone.

And Eddie Howe faces a daunting task in the next week as the Cherries take on Chelsea and Man City.

The Chelsea match is a League Cup quarterfinal before a Premier League clash with the Sky Blues.

John King & Charlie Daniels

Bournemouth could be without two of their star players for the Chelsea and Man City games. And possibly longer than that too.

King was subbed out of the Liverpool game in the first half on Sunday.

In the second period Bournemouth left-back Daniels also needed to exit the game with a knock.

After the match, Howe confirmed that King picked up a hamstring injury with Daniels suffered a groin problem.

While Bournemouth fans will be hoping neither injury is too troublesome, King and Daniels are unlikely to be fit for the Chelsea and Man City games.
