Bournemouth 1- Tottenham 0
Bournemouth hosted Tottenham on Saturday in their final home game of the season.
Eddie Howe’s side started the day in 14th place in the Premier League table, on 42 points and safe from relegation.
Tottenham, however, needed to beat the Cherries to ensure they would be playing Champions League football next season.
They began the day four points above 5th-placed Arsenal, who play Brighton on Sunday.
Travers keeps Bournemouth in the game
With Bournemouth already safe from the drop zone, Eddie Howe deemed the Spurs game a good chance to hand a debut to one of Bournemouth’s youngsters.
19-year-old Mark Travers started between the sticks for Bournemouth vs Spurs, becoming the first teenager to start in goal in a Premier League tie since Joe Hart.
19y 351d – Aged 19 years and 351 days, Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers is the first teenage goalkeeper to start a Premier League game since Joe Hart in October 2006 for Man City vs Sheffield United (19y 178d), Debut.

Despite his age, Travers put on a superb display and really kept Bournemouth in the tie during the first-half.
Mark Travers made five saves in the opening 45 minutes vs. Spurs; Jonas Lössl (7 vs. Newcastle) is the only player to make more in the first half of a Premier League game this season.

Of course, Travers had less to do in the second 45, as Tottenham were down to nine men.
However, Bournemouth fans still loved his debut, especially during the first-half.

Easy to forget that if Mark Travers didn’t make all those huge saves on the first half, Spurs would probably be 2-0 up and in comfortable control
