Bournemouth have this evening been dealt a blow on the injury-front, after defender Adam Smith was forced off during the Cherries’ clash with Huddersfield.
Huddersfield vs Bournemouth
Basement-dwellers Huddersfield welcomed Bournemouth to the Kirklees Stadium a short time ago, for a Premier League clash.
The hosts’ dismal campaign to this point had seen them pick up just 14 points from 29 Premier League outings before this afternoon.
Bournemouth, meanwhile, had enjoyed a hugely-disappointing run of their own of late.
Eddie Howe’s men had failed to pick up a win across any of their last 5 league outings ahead of kick-off at the Kirklees.
However, when all was said and done this evening, the class of the Cherries shone through, as the visitors cruised to a 2-goal victory.
The returning Callum Wilson put Bournemouth in front with 20 minutes on the clock, before Ryan Fraser doubled their lead shortly after the hour-mark to secure all 3 points for the away side.

In truth, the scoreline could and probably should have been considerably more flattering for Bournemouth, but, in the end, Eddie Howe’s side were forced to make do with a 2-goal haul.
On an otherwise positive day for the Vitality outfit, however, Bournemouth were also dealt a blow on the personnel front.
Defender Adam Smith picked up what appeared to have been a hamstring injury late in the first-half, before being replaced by Nathaniel Clyne:

Tests over the coming days should shed some light on how long Smith is set to spend on the sidelines, though he immediately appears to be in doubt to feature when Bournemouth take on Newcastle United next weekend.
