Borussia Dortmund reiterate stance on fee for Man United-linked Sancho

Borussia Dortmund chief Michael Zorc has this afternoon moved to reiterate the stance that clubs will not be afforded a discount on Jadon Sancho this summer.

Dortmund standout

English international Sancho is widely-regarded as one of the finest young talents on the planet.

Since departing Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund in 2017, the electric winger has gone on to light up the Bundesliga, with a near-unrivalled combination of touch, pace, ability to beat his man and, crucially, a finished product.

The 2018/19 season saw Sancho rack up 13 goals and a hefty 19 assists across all competitions.

The current campaign, meanwhile, has seen the attacker’s production reach even more impressive heights, with the 11-time capped international having notched 20 goals, to go along with 20 assists.

This level of consistent excellence has inevitably resulted in rumours that Sancho has been added to the wishlists of a number of Europe’s top clubs.

A Premier League return has long been mooted for the Dortmund standout, with Manchester United known to be keen admirers, and Sancho himself said to be ‘very open’ to the prospect of a move to Old Trafford.

Recent speculation has even gone as far as to suggest that the youngster has agreed, in principle, to the personal terms of a contract with the Red Devils.

‘Price expectations have to be met’

If United, or any other club for that matter, hold genuine hope of striking a deal for Sancho this summer, though, then they will be forced to pay up.

Speaking earlier today, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc was drawn on Sancho’s future, amid the widespread reports surrounding his name.

Zorc, though, was quick to reiterate BVB’s stance that the club’s gifted young wide-man will only be sold in the case that the price-tag around his neck is met, ‘100%’:

‘Jadon has a valid contract with us and we would be very happy if he is still with us next season,’ the Dortmund chief explained to Waz.

‘To think about anything else at all, the timing would have to be right, and secondly, our price expectations would have to be met 100%.’
