They might not be buying any players this summer, but it seems that there is at least one bit of good news for Tottenham Hotspur.
The club could welcome Harry Winks back soon, after a long term issue with an ankle injury.
Standard Sport claim he could well be back for the start of the season, but that the club are being cautious despite their injury issues, and don’t want to rush him back before he is ready.
Earlier this year, he spoke to them about his injury and said: “I had one ankle injury, then I came back, and I got another one. I was playing with it and I got to the point where I had to pull out. It wasn’t easy.
“The most difficult thing has been watching the lads play and do really well while I wasn’t involved.”
There have been plenty of questions over the business – or lack there of – done at Spurs this summer, and manager Mauricio Pochettino has noted that he’s happy with the players currently at the club.
He also said that the ones who have signed new deals will be key – and that it’s not really down to him to bring players in, just to work with what he has and make the best of it.
Spurs will be looking to finish in the top four and push for the title once again this season, but it’s going to be tougher than ever – and Pochettino will be fully aware of that, and know that no summer signings can’t have helped their quest.
