Boost for Man City as Kevin De Bruyne pictured back in training ahead of West Ham

Encouraging photos of Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne back on the training pitch have surfaced online this afternoon.

City back on track

Pep Guardiola’s men are set to return to Premier League action on Saturday, in a meeting with West Ham United.

The Sky Blues will head into proceedings with their tails up, having bounced back from a couple of concerning displays prior to the international break with a pair of victories over the last week.

After first putting Arsenal to the sword in a league clash, City followed up with a 3-1 downing of Portuguese giants Porto in the club’s Champions League opener last night.

City’s opponents this weekend, though, will likely prove no pushovers.

David Moyes’ West Ham have bagged 7 points from an available 9 over the course of their last 3 fixtures, a run which includes back-to-back drubbings of Wolves and Leicester, and a stunning 3-goal comeback at Tottenham this past weekend.

As such, Pep Guardiola will no doubt be fully aware of the dangers of underestimating the Hammers, having already seen his side heavily punished for doing so versus Leicester City late last month.

KDB returns

And, as outlined above, ahead of their latest effort to climb back towards the summit of the Premier League table, Manchester City have today been handed a timely boost on the personnel front.

This comes in the form of Kevin De Bruyne’s return to the training pitch.

Belgian international De Bruyne has missed the Citizens’ last two outings, since having been forced to depart international duty early earlier this month.

A series of photos posted across the club’s social media platforms this afternoon, though, showcased the City standout in good spirits, alongside the rest of Pep Guardiola’s squad.

It therefore appears likely that De Bruyne will return to play at least some part at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
