Boost for Liverpool: Big hint dropped over Sadio Mane involvement vs Bournemouth

Sadio Mane has been spotted travelling with Liverpool to face AFC Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

The 26-year-old has been struggling with a foot issue and his involvement until this stage had been unclear.

However, he appears to have made the trip to the South coast for the Reds’ clash with the Cherries.

After suffering a cut on his foot which required stitches, Mane missed the club’s trip to Burnley.

He was deemed as a doubt to face the South coast side today, however, he has travelled for the clash.

Klopp told the media that Mane had begun running today after suffering the cut to his foot on Sunday.

Mane is expected to undergo a late fitness test ahead of the game.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed today that Dejan Lovren, Nathanial Clyne and Joe Gomez will also miss Saturday game.

The German manager added that whilst Mane’s fitness remained unclear, Andrew Robertson was set to return to the side.

Klopp told Liverpool Echo:

“Dejan got a knock last week and got a concussion.

“Clyney is out for two weeks or so. Nothing serious, and Joe obviously.

“Sadio is now out running around but it doesn’t sound like he will be ready for tomorrow.

“Hopefully he can finish the programme today we did for him, and Gini is nothing. He did his own programme and he is fine.

“Andy Robertson didn’t travel to Burnley but he is fine.

“He has played most of the games in a very intense position which is why we decided to give him… a whole eight hours off.

“He was not in Burnley but he trained in the morning!”
