Boost for Arsenal: New signing poised for debut at the Emirates this evening

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks set to make his debut for Arsenal this afternoon as they host Everton at the Emirates.

The striker signed for the Gunners on Transfer Deadline Day in a deal worth around £60m from Borussia Dortmund.

Aubameyang had been struggling with illness during the week and there were concerns over whether he would be available for Saturday’s clash.

Debut inbound?

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has posted the above tweet on Twitter, suggesting that Aubameyang has overcome illness to make his Arsenal debut.

During the week, the Gabon forward had fallen ill with a sickness bug, however, it appears as though he has overcome this.

The former Dortmund man will wear the number 14 shirt for Arsene Wenger’s side and trained with his new club this week.

The Gunners host Everton this evening at the Emirates, as they look to bounce back from their midweek defeat at Swansea City.

Returning to North London today is Theo Walcott who faces his former side for the first time since his £20m move last month.

Jamie Brown: The Gunners, despite such a high profile loss, had an excellent transfer window, by bringing in one of the best forwards in world football to the Emirates, replacing a man who wanted out.

No doubt that losing Sanchez was a major blow for Wenger’s side, but in very unlike Arsenal fashion, they have more than suitably replaced him by going very big with Aubameyang.

Liverpool were vastly weakened by the departure of Philippe Coutinho and failure to find a replacement, this highlights how the Gunners could have quite easily lost Sanchez under similar circumstances.

Arsenal knew they were destined to lose their Chilean talisman but with the signings of both Henrik Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang, they look set to cope with Sanchez’s move unscathed.
