Liverpool & Southampton
For several months already, Liverpool fans have been consuming stories suggesting the Reds will conduct some big business in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool finished the Premier League season in fourth, however, after starting the season as one of EPL’s frontrunners, Liverpool bombed out the title race as they nervously held onto a Champions league berth.
Many criticised Liverpool’s backline as being too porous, and Southampton centre-half Virgil Van Dijk has long been tipped to swap St Mary’s for Anfield this summer as the Reds look to bolster their back four.

The Dutch international is thought to be commanding a 50 million pound transfer fee.
Of course, Liverpool have been recruiting Southampton players over the past few season with the likes of Nathanial Clyne, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Rickie Lambert all joining the Reds in recent seasons.
