Further blow for Tottenham as another star midfielder ruled out of Champions League clash

Tricky clash

Mauricio Pocehettino’s men are set to travel to Cyprus for the second fixture of their Group H campaign, having dispatched of Borussia Dortmund in impressive fashion two weeks ago.

Rocked

However, after it was earlier confirmed that midfielder Mousa Dembele will miss out with an ankle injury which also kept him out of his side’s 3-2 victory at West Ham on Saturday, Spurs have since revealed that fellow midfield star Christian Eriksen will not be available due to illness.

Eriksen has developed into one of the North London outfit’s key men over recent seasons, and his creative influence on proceedings will no doubt be sorely missed tomorrow evening.

Piling up

In addition to Dembele and Eriksen, long-term absentees Danny Rose and Erik Lamela will both also miss out, while Victor Wanyama has not recovered from a knee injury.

Finally, neither Jan Vertonghen or Dele Alli will feature due to suspension.
