As per a report from the Telegraph, Southampton are closing on a deal for Birmingham City star Che Adams.
Adams, a 22-year-old striker, made the the move to Birmingham in the summer of 2016, after two years on the books of Sheffield United.
And the hitman has since gone on to establish himself as an absolute fan-favourite at St. Andrew’s, with his goalscoring exploits this past season in particular having proven absolutely crucial to Birmingham’s fortunes.
After racking up 12 goals and 5 assists in the league over the previous 2 years combined, Adams took his game to another level altogether over the course of the 2018/19 campaign.
Across 46 Championship appearances (43 starts), the former English U20-international notched 22 goals and 4 assists.

Adams enjoyed a particularly prolific spell following the turn of the year, when he managed 10 goals in just 8 league outings.
St. Mary’s bound?
As such, rumours linking the former Coventry youth with a move to the Premier League have inevitably been forthcoming over recent months.
Heavyweights Arsenal and Manchester United were named as keen suitors of Adams back in February, when scouts from both clubs were reported to have watched the attacker in action during Birmingham’s meeting with Bolton Wanderers.
As per the aforementioned update from the Telegraph, though, the 22-year-old looks all set to make the move to another Premier League club.
The outfit in question are Southampton.
Adams is said to be at the forefront of a long list of targets for the Saints this summer, as manager Ralph Hassenhuttl and director of football operations Ross Wilson attempt an ‘extensive restructuring’ of the former’s squad.
Southampton previously had a £10 million offer for Adams knocked back in January.
This time around, though, a £14 million bid is expected to see the hitman seal a St. Mary’s switch.
Burnley, and to a lesser extent Everton, were also rumoured to be keen on Adams.
