Down to the player
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been talking about David Silva’s availability for the clash with Burnley and has given an update on the player.
The Spanish midfielder has been away from the squad for a number of weeks after the premature birth of his child.
That has saw the player return to Spain to be with his family in this difficult time and Manchester City has respected that.
Pep Guardiola has remained open on the possibility of David Silva returning to the side and has maintained it is down to the player when he is ready.
“It’s not easy for me to explain what he feels,” explained Guardiola.
“He told everyone what has happened. When he plays, he shows on the pitch that he’s able to forget everything.
“He decides if he stays or goes back to Spain. I don’t know about this weekend.”
While it’s likely David Silva will miss the Burnley clash, there is a number of players who certainly won’t.
That is because the sides injury woes have gotten worse in recent weeks.
Gabriel Jesus, Vincent Kompany, Benjamin Mendy and Phil Foden are all out with long-term injuries.
As well as that, Kyle Walker is a doubt for the game against Burnley.
“We are going to try to make the best team possible because we play Burnley,” Guardiola confirmed.
“We played Huddersfield last season and needed a replay.”
Terrible news for Arsenal, huge news for Man City
While injury problems aren’t great for Man City right now, they have been given some big news.
That comes as Arsenal have been dealt a huge blow and it involves Alexis Sanchez.
The Chilean looks set to leave the club this month and Man City look the likeliest to sign him.
