Alvaro Morata

Betting suspended on Alvaro Morata’s future as move draws closer

Chelsea move

Chelsea may finally be about to get some good news this summer, after Ladbrokes suspended betting on Alvaro Morata’s future.

The Real Madrid forward looked like moving to Manchester United, until the Red Devils opted to get Romelu Lukaku, and ruin Chelsea’s transfer plans to boot.

Now however, it seems Antonio Conte is finally about to get his wish and number nine, with a deal thought to be close.

Of course, this has been said many times this summer, with AC Milan the latest club to be ‘nearing a deal’ for Morata, yet this time the bookies are pretty sure it will come off.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Conte may have missed out on Lukaku, but he’s clearly keen to bring in an alternative with Diego Costa set for an exit.

And the latest news from our trading floor suggests Morata will be spearheading Chelsea’s attack in the near future.”

Matic exit

One player who looks to be leaving Chelsea is Nemanja Matic, with the midfielder heavily linked to both Juventus and Manchester United.

After missing Chelsea’s pre-season tour and seeing Bakayoko arrive, the Blues feel they could cash in on the midfielder, who wants to play regular football, and will accept a move to a top club.
