Viewers of the clash between Manchester City and Tottenham have taken to Twitter in numbers this afternoon, to wax lyrical about Bernardo Silva.
Man City 1-0 Tottenham
Pep Guardiola’s champions welcomed Spurs to the Etihad a short time ago, for an absolutely critical Premier League clash.
City headed into proceedings aware that a win would see them leapfrog Liverpool back to the summit of the English top-flight table.
A Tottenham victory, meanwhile, would have seen the North Londoners extend their advantage over both Arsenal and Chelsea to 4 points in the race for a Champions League berth for next season.
But, when all was said and done at the Etihad, there could only be one winner, with City having eventually come out on top.
The only goal of the game came with just 5 minutes on the clock, when Bernardo Silva’s dink to the back post was nodded back across goal by Sergio Aguero, before being headed home by the arriving Phil Foden.
3 – Phil Foden is the first player born in the 2000s to score a Premier League goal for Man City, and is their third youngest scorer in the competition overall (18y 327d). Chosen. #MCITOT pic.twitter.com/GM3Tns3h76

Tottenham, to their credit, carved out several clear-cut openings over the remainder of the matchup, with all of Christian Eriksen, Heung-min Son and Lucas Moura having gone close.
However, City stood firm, showcasing their title credentials yet again amid a nervy atmosphere in Manchester to rack up their 10th-straight league win.
While a number of the Sky Blues’ stars shone in a gritty performance this afternoon, no player was more influential over the course of the 90 minutes than Bernardo Silva.
The diminutive Portuguese international was in inspired form, driving City to victory with not only his trademark mesmerizing runs and superb link-up play, but also an absolute relentlessness when out of possession.
And it is safe to say that viewers of the clash were impressed by Silva’s showing, with some of the best reaction from across Twitter showcased below:
