Benfica boss Nelson Verissimo has claimed that he would like to see his star forward Durwin Nunez sell for a similar price to Joao Felix should he depart this summer.
The Uruguayan striker has been in fine form, and netted his side’s only goal in their 3-1 defeat to Liverpool, and has caught the eye of top clubs across Europe. Manchester United, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid have all been credited with an interest in Nunez, while West Ham saw a January move for the striker turned down.

Come the summer, there will surely be bigger clubs sniffing around, but Nunez won’t leave on the cheap.

Verissimo keen to make record sale
Speaking to the Portuguese press ahead of their trip to Anfield for the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final, Benfica boss Nelson Verissimo has revealed that he would like a massive sale if possible.
‘Darwin is an excellent player, he has shown everyone his qualities, Verissimo told the reporter. ‘He has helped the team a lot and the team has helped him a lot.
‘Now regarding numbers, I hope as a Benfica fan that he will go for a fee close to Joao Felix [in 2019].’
Felix left Benfica for Atletico Madrid in the wake of Antoine Griezmann’s sale for Β£115 million, but it seems unlikely that Nunez will breach that mark, especially in the face of recent financial uncertainty due to COVID.
Should he continue to impress, however, his price tag will only increase.
