Belgium provide fresh update on Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku injury update

With the first set of Euro 2020 qualifiers underway, Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku joined up with the Belgium squad.

Belgium would beat Russia 3-1 in their first qualifier earlier this week thanks to a brace from Eden Hazard and a Youri Tielemans strike.

Romelu Lukaku would miss the win over Russia with a foot injury.

Belgium will now face Cyprus on Sunday in their second qualifier and were hopeful of having their main striker back.

However, on Saturday, Belgium have confirmed that the United forward has not travelled with the squad to face Cyprus.

“Romelu Lukaku will not travel with us to Cyprus this morning due to a foot injury. Get well soon, Romelu!”

Manchester United vs Watford

This would suggest Lukaku’s injury may be a bit more serious than first feared, something Man United fans will not want to hear.

After the international break, United will host Watford as they look to bounce back from defeats to Arsenal and Wolves.

United are currently 5th in the Premier League, two points below 4th place Arsenal and three points below Tottenham.

As for Watford, they sit 8th in the table, a point off 7th place Wolves.
