Rummenigge v Leroy Sane

One suspects that after Karl-Heinz Rummenigge’s rant on ZDF on Wednesday, it’s highly unlikely that Schalke’s Leroy Sane will be going to Bayern Munich this summer.

This week, Schalke’s Director of Sport Christian Heidel gave an interview on TV in which hinted heavily at the upcoming big money transfer of Sane to Manchester City.

(Leroy) Sane has clearly stated that he would like to move this summer. We have to accept it.

Bayern had been challenging the Sky Blues for the German talent, especially after Arjen Robben has been ruled out of action for six weeks, while Douglas Costa is also on the sidelines for the Bavarians.

But Rummenigge has seemed to confirm that Sane is moving to the Etihad, and he’s accused the player of being driven by money.

Sane to Man City

Rummenigge made the following comments to ZDF:

There are rumours Sane is going to City. Young players must decide if they are planning for sport or finances.

As if Bayern have never used their financial power to get the best young players!

The 20-year-old is an incredibly exciting talent who scored nine goals and chalked up seven assists in 42 appearances for the Royal Blues last term.
