Bayern unlikely to sign Sane due to Man City’s ‘insane’ demands – Hoeness

Sane’s lack of playing time at Man City

Leroy Sane had a solid 2018/19 season, scoring 16 and assisting 18 in 47 games across all competitions.

Sane would also make 31 Premier League appearances, by no means a low number.

However, despite his high appearance count, a fair few of those games saw him introduced off the bench – 10 to be exact.

Even when Sane did start for City in the league, he would rarely finish a game, managing to do so just 11 times in the PL this past season.

Bayern now unlikely to sign Sane

After struggling to hold down a regular starting place in the 2018/19 campaign, rumours began to circulate that Bayern Munich were interested in signing the German.

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge would also confirm their interest in Sane:

“We will try[to sign Sane]. I cannot promise whether it will succeed.” As quoted by the Guardian.

However, Bayern’s hopes of landing the 23-year-old this summer appear to have taken a bit of a hit.

This is because, in a recent interview, Bayern president Uli Hoeness claimed that a deal for Sane is unlikely due to Manchester City’s demands, which Hoeness described as ‘insane’:

“You have to be a bit sceptical. It is unlikely that it will work.

“It’s about sums, they’re insane.” As quoted by the Evening Standard.

Sane is contracted to Manchester City until 2021, but he has yet to agree to a new deal.
