Bayern Munich hoping to sign Man City’s Leroy Sane & Sky Blues target Rodri – Kicker

Bayern Munich – Bundesliga winners

It was another successful domestic season for Bayern Munich as they retained the Bundesliga title.

Borussia Dortmund had threatened to snatch the championship, but BVB tailed off in the final stages of the campaign and Bayern stayed the course.

Bayern are also in the German Cup final this Saturday, where they will take on RB Leipzig.

In Europe, Liverpool beat Bayern in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Bayern want to sign Man City’s Leroy Sane

German news outlet Kicker are reporting on Thursday that Bayern Munich want to sign Man City’s Leroy Sane.

Sane was last in the Bundesliga three seasons ago, before he left Schalke to join the Sky Blues.

Kicker claim that talks between Sane’s family and Bayern have been going on for a long time.

Sane is also reportedly of the following mindset: if he leaves Man City, the only club he’ll go to is Bayern Munich.

Will Man City sell Sane?

Sane, 23, is under contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2021.

Pep Guardiola has recently confirmed his hope that Man City can agree a new deal with the German winger.

However, Kicker report that Man City are more than open to selling Sane. Readers are told:

Even though Pep Guardiola had recently stated that he did not want to lose Sane (“We want to extend his contract because we want to keep him”), Man City’s coach is very willing to kick him out.

Among other things, the Spanish perfectionist disapproves of Sane’s defensive qualities and the lack of urgency when pressing.

Bayern also want Man City target Rodri

For several weeks, reports in the English press have linked Man City with Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri.

The Times recently reported that:

Rodri, the £60 million-rated Altetico Madrid midfielder, is viewed as a potential long-term replacement for Fernandinho, who is contracted until 2020.

However, Kicker now report that Bayern Munich are set to challenge the Premier League champs for Rodri.

Kicker say the race to sign 22-year-old Rodri is fierce, with Real Madrid and Barcelona also sniffing about.

Echoing others, Kicker note that Rodri reportedly has a 70 million euro release clause.
