Following weeks of speculation linking his side with a big-money move for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has today opened up on the subject.
Sanchez’s future at Arsenal has been the talking point of the summer so far, with the Gunners hierarchy having reportedly offered the Chilean superstar a record-breaking deal to keep him at the club.
However, the 28-year-old, currently on international duty at the Confederations Cup, has been coy on his future when questioned on the subject, with many suggesting that his refusal to commit to Arsenal signifies a likely departure from North London in the near future.
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Manchester City have been the most heavily linked with moves for Sanchez, though the rumoured price-tag on the head of the diminutive attacker had seemingly ruled the German side out in recent days.
According to the manager of the Bavarians, though, this is not the case, with the club ‘ready’ to make a move should Arsenal or Sanchez suggest that a deal could come to fruition.
Speaking at a media conference this afternoon, Ancelotti revealed:
‘If an opportunity comes up, the club will be ready.’
‘There are lots of rumours. Alexis is a great player but not the only one in the world. I like Alexis.’
