Word stemming from the Spanish media on Saturday suggests that Barcelona star Sergio Aguero is set to imminently announce his retirement from the game of football.
The name of Argentine hitman Aguero of course took its place front and centre in the headlines late last month.
This, unfortunately, though, came for all the wrong reasons.
During Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Alaves on October 30th, the 33-year-old, in from the off, went to ground in alarming fashion off the ball, seemingly struggling for breath whilst clutching his chest:
Concerning scenes near the end of the first half at Camp Nou, but thankfully Sergio Aguero was able to leave the pitch without the need for a stretcher 🙏

In turn, Aguero was hauled from the field of play, before being taken to a nearby hospital.
On the back of the 1-1 stalemate coming to a close, the Blaugrana subsequently confirmed that the former Manchester City star had reported ‘an episode of chest discomfort’, which ultimately culminated in him being ruled out of action for the next three months:

Aguero to bid football farewell
As alluded to above, however, on Saturday, a fresh, and frankly devastating update has been forthcoming regarding Aguero’s situation.
As revealed by Gerard Romero, and since backed by reliable sources elsewhere, the Argentine icon, in fact, looks set to imminently announce his retirement from the game of football.
A press conference has been pencilled in for next week, during which Aguero will announce the news that he will never again step foot on the pitch:
🚨 Kun Agüero retires. Heart problems force him to leave football active. Next week a press conference is scheduled to announce his withdrawal. We are telling it at https://t.co/vrsj4XOUJL # barça #fcblive #kunaguero
