An update on Lionel Messiâs situation at Barcelona has emerged recently.
Messiâs Barcelona future
Lionel Messiâs future has of course been a major talking point in the world of football for some time now.
Following Barcelonaâs hammering at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League last season, Messi attempted to depart the Camp Nou via a clause in his contract.
However, after months of back and forth, the Argentine eventually opted to stay put for 2020/21.
But, despite being set to see out the remainder of the campaign with Barca, Messiâs future beyond the summer remains unclear.
Two of the teams most heavily linked with the veteran attacker over the last year or so have been Manchester City and PSG, with it having even been reported last month that the latter had offered Messi a two-year deal.
Messi not offered contract yet
A Camp Nou stay, however, was then touted more recently.
The Times suggested that the 6-time Ballon dâOr winner looked set to remain a Barcelona payer, following positive talks between the club and his father.
It was then reported that Lionel Messi has decided to continue with Barcelona:

A fresh update on the situation has, however, now been provided by Goal.
They report that the player, his representatives and Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, are holding amicable talks.
However, they go on to add that Barca have not yet put a firm offer on the table at this point.
Despite this, there remains hope that an agreement can be reached. But, until the state of Barca’s finances becomes clear, no official offer will be made.
