“Nothing with Barcelona” over Cristian Romero
Tottenham are clearly in the driving seat for Atalanta defender Cristian Romero. The 23-year-old was voted Serie A’s defender of the year last campaign, and has been linked with a switch to north London.

Barcelona were also rumoured to be interested in the defender this summer, but transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has shot down these suggestions, saying that “there’s nothing with Barcelona”, leaving Spurs free to net the Argentine.
Alex Collado leaves Barcelona camp to sort his future
Meanwhile, 22-year-old attacking midfielder Alex Collado has left Barcelona’s training camp to sort out his future, as per a statement from the Spanish club.

Collado, who has been a part of Barcelona’s B team for the past two seasons, has been linked with a loan move to Belgian side Club Brugge. However, as per Football Espana, he is not highly rated by Ronald Koeman, and as such a permanent deal has not been ruled out.
Messi cannot return to training amidst Barcelona contract negotiations
According to a report from Forbes, Messi will enjoy a prolonged holiday as a result of his contract standoff. Messi’s last deal with Barcelona expired on June 30th, and while he is expected to renew his deal, nothing has been confirmed yet.

As a result, he will not be returning to Barcelona training until this is remedied, which may take him until late into the transfer window.
