Barcelona are planning to make their move for the Frenchman following the conclusion of the World Cup and are readying an offer.

Di Marzio adds that the La Liga champions are considering offer Andre Gomes as part of a deal with the Portuguese international expected to leave the Nou Camp this summer.

Chelsea’s new contract proposals

The West London club are desperate to keep hold of Kante, despite having missed out on Champions League football.

Chelsea are expected to ask for in excess of £100m for the player should they be forced to sell, however, the club have planned talks to offer him a new contract.

The situation is not expected to develop until after the World Cup and Maurizio Sarri takes charge following the departure of Antonio Conte.
