Barcelona to sue Neymar for 8.5 million Euro following PSG move

La Liga giants Barcelona have this afternoon released a statement, confirming that they will be taking legal action against Brazilian attacker Neymar for a breach of contract.

Following months of heavy speculation surrounding his future at the Camp Nou, Neymar eventually completed a world-record, 222 million Euro transfer from Barca to French outfit Paris Saint-Germain two weeks ago.

The move was anything but cordial, however, with the Barcelona board unhappy with their former star’s conduct throughout proceedings and Neymar himself having taken aim at the Blaugrana hierarchy over recent days by claiming that the club ‘deserve much better.’

Legal action

And this afternoon, relations between Neymar and his former employers look to have taken another turn for the worse, after Barcelona released an official statement, confirming that they intend to sue the Selecao star for a breach of contract.

The statement reveals that Barca will seek repayment of an 8.5 million Euro bonus paid to the 25-year-old following the renewal of his contract, due to a breach of terms, as well as 10% in interest.
