Barcelona spy on Man United

On Thursday, Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Barcelona scout Robert Fernandez was again watch Champions League action on Wednesday night.

This time he turned up in Portugal to watch Man United’s 1-0 win over Benfica.

Marcus Rashford was the hero for the Red Devils, as his free-kick was the only goal of the game.

But Rashford wasn’t whom Barca’s scout was looking at.

Instead, MD claim that Barcelona scout Robert Fernandez is interested in Anthony Martial.

Unfortunately Mundo Deportivo fail to elaborate on Barcelona’s Martial interest. Are the Catalans lining up a bid? And how much would they have to pay to convince Man United to sell?

For the record, Martial is under contract until 2019.

Red Devils injury crisis

Man United already had a long list of injury absentees before the Benfica game.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcos Rojo, Marouane Fellaini, Paul Pogba and Michael Carrick have all been out of contention for weeks.

The Red Devils have also been without Eric Bailly in recent matches as the African star has a knock.

Now Marcus Rashford has joined the injured players list. He picked up a knee injury in the Champions League.

Defender Phil Jones is also another injury headache for United. The centre-half missed the Benfica game with a knock, with Victor Lindelof getting a rare start.
