Barcelona want Gomes
Manchester United could be in danger of losing their brightest prospect, the Daily Mail report. Barcelona are sniffing around 16-year-old attacker Angel Gomes after the teenage prodigy made headlines this season. He’s been touted as a future star for several years now, yet United mightn’t get the chance to see him in their first team. The idea of playing with Messi and Neymar might be too hard to resist.

There hasn’t been a formal offer from Barcelona yet but the fact that staff have been monitoring his development will worry United. Gomes was signed by United as a 13-year-old and his talent has been clear from day one. He’s been consistently playing in higher age groups since joining.
The teenager has football in his blood. His father Gil played with Luis Figo and Manuel Rui Costa for Portugal U21s and his cousin is former United winger Nani.
Gomes made his United under 18 debut at the age of 14 and made the news when he scored a hat-trick for them aged 15. Since then, he’s captained England U17s. United would want to make sure they secure his future. Or else another club will snap him up.
