Barcelona sell Jules Kounde shirts on official store as deal nears

The Barca blunder was caught on social media

Jules Kounde shirts have been spotted for sale on Barcelona’s official website, briefly, as the club grow in confidence over a deal for the Sevilla defender.

Chelsea were thought to be in pole position for the Frenchman, but as with Raphinha a deal stalled and Barcelona swooped in with an offer for the player, who now favours a move to the Camp Nou.

As per the reliable Fabrizio Romano, a deal is now considered ‘close’, with the Blues already considering alternatives having been left waiting for the player only to ultimately be rejected.

Kounde’s addition could have further implications in the transfer window, with Chelsea now thought to be ready to block Barcelona moves for Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, despite the pair thought to be keen on a switch to Catalonia.

Kounde shirts go on sale

Meanwhile, for several minutes shirts adorned with Kounde’s name were available on the Barcelona website, further hinting that a deal has been completed despite no official confirmation of the fact.

While they have now been deleted, it seems a case that the cat is already very much out of the bag in Spain.

And, in joining, Kounde will become the fifth signing of the summer for the Catalan giants.
