Supporters of Spanish heavyweights Barcelona have taken to social media in their droves on Sunday night, to single one member of the club’s first-team setup out for special praise.
Xavi Hernandez’s troops, of course, were back in action a short time ago.
Fresh off a disappointing opening day stalemate with Rayo Vallecano at the Camp Nou, the Blaugrana made the trip to the Basque Country, eyeing a bounce-back result at the expense of Real Sociedad.
And, when all was said and done, bounce back is precisely what Barca managed.
After Robert Lewandowski got the evening’s visitors off to the perfect start with his first goal for Xavi’s side inside a minute, Sociedad quickly struck back, courtesy of Alexander Isak.
Within a 15-minute spell late in the 2nd-half, though, Barcelona retook control in impressive fashion, to eventually emerge on the right side of a 4-1 scoreline.
Ousmane Dembele put the Catalans back in front, before the aforementioned Lewandowski’s brace was added to by Ansu Fati late on.
On the back of the action coming to a close at Anoeta, it should therefore come as little surprise to hear of the Barcelona faithful being in altogether jubilant mood.
A whole host of members of Xavi’s squad have been singled out for praise, including the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Pedri, and Raphinha.
As alluded to above, though, it is one player in particular who has been hailed as the ‘difference’ in getting the Blaugrana back on track towards all three points on Sunday.
The individual in question? Substitute Ansu Fati:
