Barcelona fans fume over inclusion of one player in team to face Valencia

Supporters of La Liga giants Barcelona have flooded to social media this evening, to reveal their disillusionment with the inclusion of one of the club’s stars versus Valencia.

Barca’s woes

Ronald Koeman and co. will of course return to action later tonight.

With the international break having now come to a close across the globe, the Blaugrana are set to welcome Valencia to the Camp Nou, for a La Liga showdown.

Barca head into proceedings eyeing a much-needed return to form, on the back of a frankly abysmal opening to the campaign.

With seven games played in La Liga, the Catalans currently sit all the way down in 9th, owing to just a solitary victory from the club’s last four league outings.

Elsewhere, on the continent, Koeman’s men have looked even worse, with a deserved 3-0 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich having been followed by a similar scoreline versus Benfica in the Champions League.

As outlined above, however, the inclusion of one player in particular has since given rise to widespread condemnation across social media.

The man in question? Sergi Roberto.

Versatile Spanish international Roberto has of course long stood as a divisive figure at the Camp Nou, with many of a Blaugrana persuasion of the opinion that the 29-year-old has never been of the standard required of such a historic club.

In turn, his latest start has sparked an inevitable backlash, with just some of the Twitter highlights showcased below:
