Barca want Mata for free
Spanish giants FC Barcelona want to sign Manchester United’s Juan Mata this summer, according to the Sun.
Mata’s current United contract is set to expire in July.
As a result, Mata is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with any foreign club.
The Spaniard joined Man United in 2014 from Chelsea for a fee in the region of £40m.
Since then, Mata has gone on to make over 200 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 44 and assisting 36.
Mata has also won the League Cup, Europa League and Community Shield while at Old Trafford.
Solskjaer earns his first win as Man United’s permanent boss
Mata has also played 29 games across all competitions this season for United.
The latest of which saw Man United host Watford in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first game as their permanent boss.
United would come away 2-1 winners thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

While Mata did start the game, the 30-year-old was taken off in the 63rd minute after a rather average display.
Given his age, United may now be willing to let Mata go as they look to rebuild under Solskjaer.
One player who United are said to be targeting and could also replace Mata is Sporting’s, Bruno Fernandes.
