Barcelona eyeing January loan for Arsenal’s Aubameyang – Goal

Aubameyang to Barcelona?

A rather interesting story concerning Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has emerged on Tuesday the 21st of January.

The former Borussia Dortmund hitman has been Arsenal’s standout star since joining the North London outfit in 2018.

Aubameyang clinched the Premier League Golden Boot last term, bagging 22 goals in the English top-flight.

And the Gabon international is having a similarly prolific 2019/20 campaign, netting 14 in 22 league appearances so far.

However, the Arsenal star is now being linked with a move away from the Emirates.

According to Goal, Barcelona are plotting a move to sign Aubameyang on loan this month.

The report also claims that Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu, CEO Oscar Grau, director of football Eric Abidal, technical secretary Ramon Planes and head coach Quique Setien all recently agreed that a striker must be brought in to cover Luis Suarez.

Blaugrana confirmed on January 12th that the Uruguayan will be out of action for four months.

And while Aubameyang recently stated he is committed to Arsenal, the lure of Spanish powerhouse Barcelona may be too good an offer for him to turn down.

The Gunners will, of course, be without the services of their top goalscorer as Aubameyang is in the midst of serving a three-match ban.

Mikel Arteta’s side head into the fixture with just one win amassed from their previous five Premier League outings.
