Chelsea are facing a struggle to hold on to Eden Hazard this summer.
The Blues face losing one of their best players – with Kristof Terreur, a Belgium football expert claiming that Barcelona have made contact with the player, but that money will be an issue.
Chelsea have so far seen Hazard stall on a new contract, and that’s left the door open for the biggest clubs in the world to consider him as a marquee option this summer.
The Express report he said: “There have been contacts between Barcelona and Eden Hazard, but no negotiations – a very expensive operation that they can’t afford at the moment.
“Real Madrid haven’t made an offer either. Chelsea not willing to sell him.
“But it’s early. Anything can still happen. Certainly with Real Madrid – a club where things change quickly – chasing a new superstar.”
Of course, it’s not just Hazard who could be on the move. Neymar is also a very attractive option for clubs, and after Cristiano Ronaldo of course left Real Madrid for Juventus, the summer transfer market looks like exploding into life, with Real Madrid in need of a new star player.
They could consider Hazard, but Neymar is also an option for them, with PSG well aware of this and willing to give the player a pay rise to keep him at the club.
Kylian Mbappe is the other name in the mix, with PSG considering their plan to buy him from Monaco this summer after a year on loan due to FFP regulations – and with the player struggling to get on with Neymar, a move could be on the cards.
