Barcelona could sell Philippe Coutinho to fund Neymar reunion

The craziest story in this transfer window

In possibly the most amazing report this month, Barcelona could sell Philippe Coutinho to fund a move for Neymar and complete a Camp Nou reunion.

Neymar left the club back in the summer of 2017 when Paris Saint-Germain triggered his release clause of €222million.

It was said at the time that the player wanted to remove himself from the shadow of Lionel Messi.

However, his time at PSG initially didn’t go to plan.

The player fell out with striker Edinson Cavani and there were many suggestions he wasn’t happy.

Many suggested that he even regretted the move and wanted to return to the Camp Nou.

Those suggestions started to die down but they still remain in the background of any transfer window.

Now, a new report has brought suggestions that Neymar could return to Barcelona back to the forefront of the news.

Could this deal really be a possibility?

That report comes from the Evening Standard who suggest that the club could even sell Philippe Coutinho to fund a deal for their former star.

The Brazilian hasn’t made a stunning start to life in La Liga and has only started once in the past five games.

Coutinho was brought in to add quality to both left wing and centre midfield and the Standard claim that he ‘has not made either position his own and could now make way as Barca plan a sensational summer swoop for his international team-mate.’

You don’t need us to tell you that this is an extremely unlikely deal.

Though, it will certainly be interesting to see if any other outlets double down on these suggestions.

Philippe Coutinho’s Barcelona report card a year after leaving Liverpool is ‘underwhelming’

It’s safe to say that Coutinho’s first full season has been disappointing.

There was even a report card made to emphasise just how ‘underwhelming’ it was.
