Tottenham vs Arsenal
The excitement is already building ahead of a huge match in the Premier League on Saturday.
For the second time this season, Tottenham will take on Arsenal in the north London derby.
Skhodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez were the heroes for the Gunners on that occasion.
Yet, ahead of this weekend’s match at Wembley, Tottenham are four points clear of their local rivals in the table.
Just one point behind Chelsea, Tottenham are fifth in the EPL with 49 points on the board. Arsenal are in sixth on 45 points.
Bad for Spurs: Gunners triple injury boost
On Wednesday, the Evening Standard have an update on Arsenal’s injury issues before this weekend’s north London derby.
Earlier in the week reports had claimed that Petr Cech is set to miss the Tottenham game.
Cech was forced out of last weekend’s 5-1 win against Everton. He was replaced by David Ospina in the final stages of the game.
But it seems that Cech is winning his battle to play against Tottenham. The Standard announce:
The injury is not thought to be serious and the club are optimistic over his recovery.
Two other players set to be fit for Arsenal are Nacho Monreal and Danny Welbeck.
Monreal, who has been in excellent scoring form for Arsenal this season, exited the Everton game at halftime. But the Spanish defender is set to return on Sunday:
Nacho Monreal is set to be available for Saturday’s north London derby against Tottenham after recovering from illness.
As for Danny Welbeck, he has been sidelined since mid-January with a hip injury picked up against Bournemouth. The forward “is making good progress and could re-join the group this week.”
