Real Madrid vs PSG
What are you doing on Valentine’s Day?
They’ll be a lot of negotiations between couples in the next few weeks as the Champions League prepares to relaunch for the knockout phase.
On February 14 at the Santiago Bernabeu, one of the pick of the last-16 ties, Real Madrid versus PSG, will have it’s first leg.
At present, many will see PSG are favourites to go through the tie.
Real have been in dire form this season, and they are struggling to finish the La Liga campaign in the top 4.
PSG meanwhile have been largely sensational for the entire season. Both in domestic French action, where they can win the lot, but also in the Champions League.
Bad for Real Madrid: Dani Carvajal is our vs PSG
On Tuesday it’s been confirmed that Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal will miss the first leg of the PSG tie.
UEFA have upheld a ban against Carvajal picked up in the Champions League group stage.
Carvajal was slapped with a two-match ban after he deliberately picked up a booking in the penultimate game of the group stages.
As a punishment for his dishonesty, UEFA hit the Madrid defender with a two-game ban.
Madrid have petitioned UEFA to have the ban reduced to one game, however the verdict has now come down: no dice.
Dani Carvajal’s mad season
2017-18 has been a rather crazy campaign for Dani Carvajal.
Back at the start of the year, Carvajal was sidelined for Madrid after he was “diagnosed with a viral process infection to the pericardium.”
That heart condition kept the defender out of action for a couple of months.
