Bad news for Man United: Victor Lindelof injured vs Turkey

Turkey vs Sweden

One of the headline matches in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday night was in Konya.

Turkey, looking to rediscover their former form from yesteryear, took on Sweden.

Sweden, of course, were one of the surprise teams at the 2018 World Cup as they reached the quarterfinals.

Man United’s Victor Lindelof injured

Jose Mourinho will no be happy…

Man United’s Victor Lindelof started the match at centre-half for Sweden in Turkey.

However Lindelof was subbed out of the match at the break, replaced by Bologna defender Filip Helander.

According to reports on Swedish website Expressen, Lindelof was forced out of the game due to an injury.

It appears the Manchester United defender may have pulled his thigh muscle during the first half.

Lindelof was reportedly seen holding the back of his thigh in the first forty-five.

If that report proves accurate, Lindelof could be out of action for several weeks.

Lindelof has been a key player for Manchester United this season.

The defender has played in 11 of 12 matches for the Red Devils.

Moreover, Lindelof has completed 90 minutes in nine of those matches for Man United.

Lindelof: Sweden’s player of the year

Last week Victor Lindelof beat the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to be named the 2018 Swedish footballer of the year.

It was the first time that Lindelof has won the award.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has previously won the title for 10 years in the row.

However it’s now been two years in succession that Zlatan has missed out on the top Swedish prize.

Last year the award was given to Helsingborgs defender Andreas Granqvist.
