Brazil have been hit with yet more injury worries as it is today being reported that both Douglas Costa and Danilo will miss Brazil’s final group game vs Serbia.
Danilo’s injury is not too serious. However, Douglas Costa could miss the rest of the 2018 World Cup.
Douglas Costa e Danilo fora do jogo contra a Sérvia. Caso de Douglas é mais grave. Pode não voltar nessa Copa. Notícia bem ruim pro Brasil.

Road to Russia
Brazil topped their qualifying group last year in order to qualify for the 2018 Russia World Cup.
As is standard with the South American qualifier, it is played out in one group of 10 teams, which Brazil finished 1st in.
Brazil played 18 games, won 12, drew five and lost just once earning 41 points, 10 more than second place Uruguay.
Neymar was by no means Brazil’s start man in qualifying as he only scored six goals, one less than Gabriel Jesus and the same as Paulinho.
However, Neymar did miss some qualifying games due to injury.
After topping their qualifying group Brazil was drawn in Group E of the 2018 World Cup alongside Switzerland, Serbia and Costa Rica.
As mentioned above Brazil played Switzerland in their opening group game. But they failed to get off to a winning start.
Brazil were held to a 1-1 draw and star man Neymar failed to make a real impact, instead, Phillip Coutinho scored a screamer to earn Brazil a point.
Coutinho would once again be Brazil’s saviour in their last game vs Costa Rica.
Brazil struggled to break down a resilient Costa Rica side for the full 90 minutes. But just like vs Switzerland, Coutinho would step up and score a 91st-minute winner for his country.
This was also Brazil’s first ever goal in injury time at a World Cup. Neymar then added a second in the 97th minutes.
However, Brazil are by no means home and dry in Group E and a loss against Serbia would see them fail to make it out of the group.
