Liverpool vs Porto
Will Liverpool progress past Porto into the Champions League semifinals?
These two sides know each other well after meeting in last season’s knockout phase in the competition.
Twelve months ago Liverpool won 5-0 away at Porto.
Will the Dragons get their revenge over the Reds this time around?
Bad news for Alberto Moreno
Will Alberto Moreno ever play for Liverpool again?
A few weeks ago Moreno was linked with a shock move to Barcelona.
Now 26, Alberto Moreno has only played in two Premier League matches this season.
Moreover the left-back has only made one appearance apiece in the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.
Moreno’s contract at Anfield expires in the summer.
Could the Spaniard be involved in the match against Porto on Tuesday at Anfield?
Scottish international Andrew Robertson, Liverpool’s first choice left-back, is suspended for this week’s Champions League clash.
Yet, according to the Times on Monday, Jurgen Klopp has a different solution to plug the hole at left-back:
James Milner’s versatility will be evident once again with Klopp having earmarked Liverpool’s vice-captain to deputise at left back in Tuesday’s Champions League tie with Porto.
Porto’s selection problems vs Liverpool
Porto also have suspensions to contend with.
Both defender Pepe and midfielder Hector Herrera are banned from the match at Anfield this week.
Alex Telles, Porto’s left-back, is also a doubt for the match following a freak injury suffered when scoring a penalty.
It’s also worth noting that three Porto players are walking a suspension tightrope. If Eder Militao, Otavio and/or Danilo pick up a booking at Liverpool, they’ll be banned for the second-leg in Portugal.
