We can expect goals at Hull tomorrow so
John Terry out of Hull game
There’s more bad news for Antonio Conte, with John Terry ruled out of tomorrow’s game at Hull, as reported by The Times today.
The Chelsea skipper has missed Chelsea’s last two games through injury, and although he’s now back in full training, he isn’t deemed fit enough for tomorrow’s game.
Terry turned his ankle late on against Swansea a couple of weeks ago, and Antonio Conte has badly missed his captain’s presence in the defence.
Chelsea’s leaky defence
Indeed, Terry’s injury has coincided with something of a crisis for Chelsea, with the Blues suddenly shipping goals at a rate of knots.
They lost 2-1 at home to Liverpool, and then 3-0 away to Chelsea, and on both occasions, Chelsea’s defence was left badly exposed.
Gary Cahill, in particular, has looked completely lost without Terry by his side, and although he had played with David Luiz during the Brazilian’s first stint at the club, it’s as if the pair had never played together.
Even keeper Thibaut Courtois has seemed a bit shaky in Terry’s absence, and Conte is surely desperate to get Terry back into the team.
It’s quite incredible to consider that Terry had to almost beg for a one-year contract extension last season; now, they need him more than ever.
